Das Motiv der Karte gefällt mir gut, obwohl der Hintergrund nicht lustig ist. Die Niederlande versinken nach und nach im Meer.

Julische Alpen, Slovenia (Slovenien)

Diese Karte ist von Feresha aus Derry in Nordirland. Die Karte zeigt aber Horn Head im Norden von Irland. Das ist immerhin ein großer Unterschied politisch gesehen.

Auf dem Poststempel macht die köngliche britische Post darauf aufmerksam, dass man die ostleitzahl deutlich schreiben soll.
Die Briefmarke stammt aus der Herbst 2001 Serie Country Definitive und diese steht für typisch Nordirland. Was es genau darstellen soll kann ich nicht erkennen. Vielleicht weiß es ja jemand und klärt mich auf.

On the stamp which is from the autumn 2011 collection "Country definitive" is something which seems to be typical for Northern Ireland allthough I can not identify what it is. Perhaps someone else knows and likes to tell me.

Kobryn, Weißrussland/Belarus

Diese Karte ist von Halina aus Weißrussland, sie schreibt, dass sie denkt die Deutschen sind sehr fleißig und sie vermutet, dass wir deswegen durch unsere Autos so bekannt sind.
Sie findet Bayern und die Schlösser dort schön.

Der Mann auf der linken Seite ist Alexander Suvorov (1729-1800). Ein General, der immer siegreich und nie geschlagen wurde. Er ist berühmt für sein Militär Handbuch "Die Wissenschaft des Sieges" und das Kriegs- und Geschichtsmuseum in Kobryn (rechts zu sehen) wurde nach ihm benannt.

Donegal, Ireland

Leider weiß ich den Namen des Schreibers dieser Karte nicht. Aber immerhin erfahre ich, dass es ein Touristenführer ist und daher schon Kontakt mit Deutschen hatte. Sie seien generell sehr höflich und sehr interessiert an den kleinen Details und IMMER pünktlich.

Donegal liegt im Norden von Irland und zu sehen ist hier die Bucht von Donegal.
Der Ort hat nur rund 2400 Einwohner, aber einen Flughafen.

I don't know the name if the sender, but he or she is a tourist guide and has met some Germans before. They are generally very polite and always interested in the little details. And ALWAYS on time.

There are only about 2400 inhabitants but there is an airport.

Warschau, Polen / Warsaw, Poland

Diese Karte kommt von Marek aus der Hauptstadt Polens. Er denkt über die Deutschen, dass sie sehr struktiert und ernst sind. Außerdem organisiert und effizient. Typisch sind Lederhosen und Sauerkraut. Begeisterte Biertrinker. Deutsche sind groß, hellhäutig und hellhaarig.
Trotz der Nähe zu Deutschland sind wir also auch in Polen von Vorurteilen bezüglich Lederhosen belastet. Sehr lustig.

Nun zur Karte. Es ist ein Blick über die Altstadt mit der Säule des Sigismund.
Die Säule stammt aus dem Jahr 1644 und wurde errichtet von König Wladyslaw IV. zur Erinnerung an seinen Vater Sigismund und ist heute ein Wahrzeichen Warschaus.

This card comes from Marek from the polish capitol Warsaw. About Germans he thinks they are very structured and serious. They are also organized and efficient. Leather pants and Sauerkraut ist typical. Also that they are avid beerdrinkers. Germans are fair skinned and light haired.
Allthough Poland is close to Germany they have the same prejudice about leather pants. Very funny.


Now about the card itself. It is a view over the old town of Warsaw with the Sigismund column.
The column was built in 1644 by king Wladyslaw IV. in remembrance of his father Sigismund and is nowadays one of Warsaw's landmarks.

Adelaide, Australien

Meine erste Postkarte ist angekommen. Endlich.
Und sie hat auch einen richtig weiten Weg hinter sich. Sie kommt von Mandy, die ursprünglich aus HongKong kommt und nun wohl in Adelaide in Australien lebt.
Die Karte ist ein selbstgeschossenes Foto aus Hahndorf in Süd-Australia, dem sogenannten "deutschen Dorf". Es soll die älteste Siedlung Deutscher in Australiens ein und ist ein richtiges Touristending. Dort wird gezeigt und verkauft was man dort eben für typisch deutsch hält. Also eigentlich eher bayrisches. Allerdings stammen die ersten Siedler aus Niedersachsen.
Sie schreibt, sie hätte dort deutsche Würstchen probiert und findet sie salzig. Ich denke aber, dass deutsche Würstchen nur in Deutschland wirklich schmecken wie sie sollen.
Typisch deutsch ist für sie die Leidenschaft für Bier. Da hat sie nicht unrecht.

My first postcard has arrived. Finally.
And it had a real long way. It's from Mandy who is orginally from Hongkong but now lives in Adelaide, Australia.
The card is a selftaken photo from Hahndorf in South Australia, the so called "german village". It is supposed to be the oldest german settlement in Australia and is an absolute tourist thing. They show and sell things that are supposed to be typical german but it's actually more bavarian, although the first settlers came from Lower Saxony.
Mandy writes she had tried a german sausage and found it pretty salty. I think german sausages only taste the way they should in Germany.
Typical german for her is the passion for beer. She is quite right about that.
